Welcome to the Community Scholarship Application site for the 35th Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research (CAHR 2026) taking place from April 23 - 26, 2026. 

PLEASE READ THE COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION ON THE CONFERENCE SITE BEFORE COMPLETING THE APPLICATION.

  • Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or resident of Canada
  • Applicants must be living with HIV/AIDS and/or be working or volunteering in any field related to HIV/AIDS (priority will be given to those living with HIV/AIDS)
  • Health care professionals (i.e. doctors, nurses, and pharmacists), students, academics, employees working in industry (i.e. pharmaceutical companies), and others that do not meet CAHR’s definition of a ‘Community’ member are not eligible for a Community Scholarship 

Community Registration Scholarships
CAHR will be offering 80 Community Registration Scholarships for CAHR 2026. Scholarship recipients will receive complimentary Conference registration only. Any other costs (travel, accommodation, child care) involved with the recipient's participation will not be covered.

Community Travel Awards
CAHR will also be offering a minimum of five Community Travel Awards for CAHR 2026. This award includes:

  • Round-trip economy airfare
  • Complimentary hotel accommodation (up to three nights)
  • Complimentary Conference registration
  • Daily per diem (up to four days) to cover expenses

Any other costs involved with the recipient’s participation will not be covered by the Community Travel Award.
