COVID-19 Safety Protocols

In an effort to support knowledge exchange and maintain the strong sense of community that has been built for decades at the CAHR Conference, the CAHR Board of Directors has made the decision to move forward with an in-person event in 2023.  This decision also rests on the fact that the Canadian HIV research community understands the importance of both effective vaccines and stringent public health approaches.  Accordingly, every effort will be taken to make the event a safe and healthy experience. All registrants must agree to the terms listed below in order to proceed with registration and to participate in CAHR 2023 in-person.

I understand that I will be required to follow all public health COVID-19 guidelines mandated by CAHR, the Conference venue, and public health officials at the time of the Conference.

The 32nd Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research marks the first time we will gather together in-person since 2019.  CAHR understands that each attendee will have their own level of comfort when interacting with fellow delegates. As such, CAHR will provide lanyards with different colours to identify your comfort level for social interaction with other attendees. Please select which option is the most suitable for you:

  • Green lanyard: I am comfortable with other attendees approaching me. Handshakes, high fives and hugs are OK too.
  • Yellow lanyard:  I am comfortable interacting with others but please no physical contact.
  • Red lanyard: I prefer to interact wearing a mask, or by keeping a distance of 6 feet apart, if possible. Please no physical contact.

Should your preferences change between now and April 27, you will have a chance to select a different colour on the first day of the Conference.
